Recycling Depots

Each recycling depot provides bins to collect your recyclables in 3 different categories:

GLASS, MIXED PAPER, PLASTICS & CANS

Please remember any contamination can cause a whole load of recycables to be sent to the landfill instead of being recycled. So please ensure items are rinsed and placed in the correct bin.

What IS and IS NOT recyclable in each bin category:

GLASS
Please rinse and remove labels (paper labels can be recycled in me mied paper bin).

Acceptable Items:
All colours of glass jars and bottles.

NOT Acceptable Items:
Mirrors, ceramics, and light bulbs.

MIXED PAPER
Acceptable Items:
Office Paper, Newspapers, Magazines, Catalogues, Envelopes, Junk Mail, Phone Books, Brochures, Glossy Flyers, Paper Labels.

NOT Acceptable Items: 
Construction paper and carbon paper are not  recyclable.

PLASTICS & CANS
Please remove labels (paper labels can be recycled in the mixed paper bin) & ensure food containers have no left-over food residue.

Acceptable Items:
Plastic bags and containers numbered with a 1, 2, 4 or 5, Tin Cans, Aluminum, Steel food and beverage containers, Foil Trays & Pie Plates, Foil Wrap, Jar Lids.

NOT Acceptable Items:
Plastic lids are often made from a different kind of plastic than the rest of the container. If a lid is not labeled with a 1, 2, 4 or 5, it is not recyclable.
