This
quickly took flight and product lines
were expanded to include old newspaper
and eventually tin, plastic and glass.
The City of Grande
Prairie became
our largest client and today, through
their solid waste management
arm, Aquatera, we
serve in excess of 20,000 households
with their recycling needs.
Recycle
Plus is a division of GPDAPDD
and
began its recycling journey with the
purchase of a Bottle Depot in 1980.
The amount of cardboard that was being
brought to the depot and ending up in
the landfill signalled a business
opportunity and in 1986, Recycle Plus
spread its wings and became a
processor for cardboard.

When
something is a good thing, everyone wants
in and in 1995, a number of
municipalities in Northern Alberta got
together and with the support of
Northern
CARE, a
regional recycling program was
launched. This regional program has
grown and serves communities as far
north as Manning, as far east as
Kinuso, south to Swan Hills and west
to the BC border.
Today,
everyone from schools, commercial clients
and many other businesses and individuals
use our services to meet their recycling
needs. In December of 2006, Recycle Plus
was able to open the doors to a new state
of the art bottle
depot.
This depot, located on Resources Road
and named PLUS II, boasts of easy
access, handicapped parking and
a recycling
depot on
site.
