There are four categories regulated for a returnable deposit refund. So, in addition to the number of containers you are returning, the amount of money you receive depends on the size and type of your bottles and cans.

• For aluminum pop cans the deposit refund is .05 cents.
• All beverage containers 1000 mls or 1 litre and less the deposit refund is .05 cents.
• Beverage containers 1.14 litres and over the deposit refund is .20 cents.
• The deposit refund for all aluminum beer cans and beer bottles is .10 cents or $1.20 per dozen.

There is no deposit imposed on milk containers when they are purchased, and you do not receive a refund for these containers. You can return your empty plastic milk jugs to any voluntary recycling station.
